This unit has helped me understand the value in teaching/classroom mechanics. Learning about the pros and cons of seating arrangements as well as ways to address disciplinary issues is crucial. Making a classroom more intimate with the horseshoe arrangement or more dominating with the use of rows was interesting to note. Ways to use gestures and eye contact to aid in teacher instruction is important. Reducing the time you give your back to students by preparing the lesson on the board beforehand and covering it with paper is a good idea.
