I love all of the activity ideas! It is easy for both myself and the student to become bored if I do the same activities each week, but sometimes it is difficult to think of new things. I will definitely be referring back to this lesson during my lesson preparations. Furthermore, the organization of lessons into Engage, Study, and Activate stages makes complete sense to me. I usually start my one-on-one lessons by talking with my students about their days to build rapport and encourage more fluent language use, but I had not thought about how to do this in a larger classroom setting. My goal is to help students feel comfortable enough with the language that they will experiment and ask questions even if they make grammar and pronunciation errors. I want to create a classroom environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute, and I think the advice to give just as much/more praise than correction will help me do that.
