The future tenses have similar qualities as past and present tenses. I can see how it can be challenging to English learners when trying to determine which future tense to apply when describing something that is going to happen later. Past, present, and future tenses have very similar forms but different usages. It will be important for students to understand the different usages in order to accurately speak the language. It is helpful to have the common mistakes made listed at the end of each tense so you are able to explain how to correct those mistakes before they happen. I learned that the "going to" tense is very similar to the "present continuous" tense and it will be important to be very clear when explaining the differences between the two.
