This unit covered the basic theories of language instruction and demonstrated the methodology of teaching an English lesson from start to finish in the form of ESA (engage, study, activate). In the Engage stage, the teacher's duty is to arouse the students' interest and open them up to speaking freely in their target language. In the Study stage, the teacher presents the lesson plan. In the Activate stage, the teacher encourages the students to practice what they have learned and use all the language that they know.
