This chapter provided a helpful overview on which vocabulary would be most conducive to student learning and which activities would be best for each stage of vocabulary learning. During the engage stage, pictures and contrast activities help get children involved in the lesson. The study phase should consist of activities like word searches and crosswords, and the activate stage should have debate and role-play scenarios. Interestingly, when introducing vocabulary, describing the origin of the word is not neccessary, which is different from my own elementary school education.
