Knowing a bunch of vocabulary is just a small part of teaching said vocabulary. Students will not retain the information unless the teacher can find a way to make it interesting. Even if the teacher sticks with the “straight arrow” approach to the ESA model, the students will get a complete overview of the vocabulary and they will see how it is used and they will get to use it themselves to not just memorize the vocabulary, but truly understand how, when, and why the vocabulary is appropriate.
