This unit pertains to classroom management and discipline. At only 16 pages, it might have been the shortest unit so far. I assume that's because it's difficult to teach proper use of eye-contact and disciplinary actions in a text book. Even the video suggests I'll figure out appropriate ways to handle complex situations as they arise, and encouraged viewers to ask resident teachers and coworkers for advice.
The main takeaways I gleaned from this unit is to treat each student equally, to be professional and punctual, to remain calm and collected during moments that require disciplinary action, and to discipline students according to the parameters of the school or language center at which I'm teaching. Basically, be fair, fun, and tough when necessary. Like a good parent. Don't make threats I can't or won't carry out, and try to discipline students privately.
