I have learned that there are different approaches to language teaching, each with their individual strenghts and weaknesses. The most commong approach is the ESA-method with their variants, Boomerang and Patchwork lessons. It is important to engage the students and awaken their interest for the lesson. One has to elicit information on what the students already know before teaching the correct use of the new form in the Study-Phase. At the end of the lesson, students should use the new form communicatively in the Engage-Phase.
