This was a seriously complicated topic to tackle, I had to re-read the course material three times to absorb the complexity of phonetics and its teaching methods. However, in this unit I learned the different teaching styles that can be used to help students from different walks of life who speak different languages and dialects, to correctly pronounce English words. The unit shows different methods to teach phonetics and pronunciation of words and letters. This unit was especially hard for me as a non-native English speaker who learned how to pronounce words along the way as it was never actually taught to me in school. I know that I will be asked to not only pronounce the words when teaching, but may need to actually write them down; this where this unit is absolutely crucial, and I shall be hanging on to the PDF document for future references as I embark on my teaching journey.
