When dealing with a class that is composed of students of different levels, the teacher may divide the class into groups, and give them separate work that is appropriate for their level. If a teacher has a big class, they can use worksheets and assign group work. To build a rapport with the students as well as engage them, the class could play a game, such as Pictionary or hangman. If a student is reluctant to speak, they can be assigned recordings to complete at home. That way, the student does not have to talk in front of their peers while still getting practice. Role-play may also help these kinds of students, because they are acting as someone else rather than themselves.
