The second lesson is more successful because the teacher seemed to be better prepared. He was able to establish rapport with the students by learning their names, and he started with an Engage activity on a level that the students could follow. He started with language items they already knew before teaching a new concept. He visualized the new forms clearly and checked if all students understood them. He gave clear instructions and examples before having the students do the activity in the Activate Phase. His body language was more positive and he seemed more friendly and relaxed in the second lesson.
