This unit covers the two receptive language skills of reading and listening. I learned that both are equally important, and are also equally important as speaking and writing. There are some specialist skills that aid in the understanding of the language, like predictive and general idea skimming. There are some common problem areas with the language used, the topics and the tasks. In general- as always- it is key to know the students specifically and keep them in mind- their needs, interests, and skills- as you plan a lesson
