This unite is about productive skills: Speaking and writing. Writing is the most neglected skill because it takes a lot of time, and it's usually part of a homework activity. Speaking is practised often in the classroom to encourage fluency and accuracy. There are many activities that are focused on speaking skills. Some are accuracy based and others fluency based. Teachers should encourage students to speak by creating as many pair-work, group-work, controlled and guided practice and games so the students become more relaxed and comfortable and therefore motivated t speak during class.
