This has been a really full lesson- with concepts, philosophies, and practical methodologies for teaching EFL. The main things I am taking away are related to elicitation and the ESA teaching method. Students who are given the most opportunities to speak out and use the language they are learning seem to succeed and stay motivated. Using the Engage, Study, Activate method is a great way to think about organizing lessons and making sure that lessons are most effective. Straight arrow, boomerang, and patchwork methods are all effective in different ways. The key is to begin with engage and end with activate.
