Understanding the importance of productive skills helps us to provide a better overall teaching experience for students involved. Just like the lesson prior to this, its important to focus on productive skills to make sure students have a good foundation in both writing and speaking. Its important to pay attention to the alphabet and writing system of the language you are learning to speak. Understanding the difference between accuracy and fluency(within the Study and Activate stages) helps the teacher in knowing when to switch on/off when it comes to corrections and allowing the students to express themselves openly. As a new/aspiring teacher these are great cues to use until handling lessons become a fluent part of my work experience. These are the kind of fundamentals I was hoping to learn before embarking on a journey into the classroom.
