I feel I have gotten a better grasp of present tense. I use sentence structures like this every day, but I have not thought about the simple rules and tenses for many years. Everyday sentences are something native speakers, of any language, take for granted. By seeing the four basic tenses and all their usages explained next to each other, I will be more cognizant of the nuances when teaching. For example, I can see many students leaving out the subject of questions sentence because their native language implies subjects; a sentence error may be “Do run?”, but the student meant “Do you run?”. This unit helped me realize just how much I do without thinking while communicating.
