In unit 5, it teaches us how to manage classes well. Eye contact is very important since it can help to establish good rapport with the students. While staring at the students is not very productive. Good use of gestures can be very effective and useful in the class to convey the meaning of language and manage the class. The voice should be changed naturally according to the circumstances. The name of the student should be used at the end of the question to keep the whole class alert. Grouping students is very important. Whole class grouping, students working on their own, pairworks and group works all have their own pros and cons. Teachers should be able to choose the right grouping way according to different classes and students. Classroom arrangements include orderly rows, circles and horseshoes, separate tables. The teacher's position should vary according to different stages of the lesson. Writing on the board makes the teacher turning the back to the students, so the teacher should know some ways to reduce the amount of time you spend with your back to the class. Individual attention should be given to all the students. When giving instructions, the teacher should use simple language, be consistent, use visual language, and check the instructions. Establishing a good rapport with the class is quite important. About maintaining discipline, the teacher should know the reasons for problem behaviors, and how to prevent problem behaviors.
