I have learned quite a bit from this unit. At first, it was really difficult to grasp the tenses because it has been such a long time since I have had to remember the differing types. With that being said, once I was able to practice with each tense, it became easier to identify them. The unit said that we, as teachers, should not be intimidated by it, and I agree. While it is easy to become overwhelmed by the numerous types of tenses, we must be confident in our ability to use them because, while we feel intimidated, our students will probably feel even more so. We will have to be comfortable with knowing them because when our students experience that feeling of being overwhelmed or discouraged, we will have the understanding that we were once where they stand. It is in those moments that I think real learning can occur.
