This unit describes the five conditionals and gives ideas for teaching them. It also describes direct and reported speech and shows how structure, tense and pronouns change between them. Finally this unit gives a time expressions diagram and lists ideas for teaching reported and direct speech.
After reading through this unit I now understand how the five conditionals are used and their grammatical structures. I have also gained a knowledge of how to teach these uses in the classroom.
From this unit I have also learnt how speech changes between direct and reported. As a native English speaker this should have been easy but it highlighted how many native English speakers (including myself) misuse tenses regularly so it required me to revisit the tense units to really get to grips with the changes.
