Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit gave an overview of the three main pathways teacher have to introduce new language: vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. When selecting vocabulary for instruction, teachers should consider the teachability (to their students' level), the appropriacy to the students and tasks, and the frequency of the lexical items. The difficulty of the new words will depend on factors such as similarity to the L1, similarity to words already known in English, and spelling and pronunciation. Students need to know the meaning, usage, spelling, pronunciation of new words along with an understanding of how to use the new word in a sentence. As for grammar, students need to know the meaning, usage, forms/patterns, and spoken vs. written forms of new grammar that is introduced. Therefore, teachers should ensure that there is adequate coverage of these topics in any lessons about grammar. While having a solid knowledge base of vocabulary and grammar is essential for success, students also need to understand the social components of language. Teaching language functions, such as apologizing, inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing bring in more nuanced concepts such as formality and politeness. It is important that language functions be taught alongside grammar and vocabulary because vocabulary and forms may change depending on the situation and are culturally dependent.
