I have learnt how important it is for students to participate in tasks together focussing on speaking English.
There are a wide range of fun and interesting methods to engage students for example bringing in sample clothing, sports equipment etc for them to identify, playing games on the board with them like drawing a stick man and slowly drawing items of clothing on them and writing all answers down, correct or incorrect.
The E,S,A method is a really interesting and sound structure to work too, I like the fact that the focus on letting the students engage together only helping when completely necessary and taking notes on regularly repeated mistakes and using this to structure the study stage, I also think that letting the students proof read their work and making themselves aware of their own mistakes rather than the teacher is a far more effective way of learning.
Encouraging students to use as much English as they know needs to be a huge part of lessons, as this will be building confidence, improving English they all ready know and to combine it with what they have just learnt, thats why ending on the activate stage is so important.
