In Unit 1, I've learn that being a good teacher means more than knowing the subject and presenting it well. It is very important to be aware of the student's abilities before presenting the lesson. Some students will be adults, with more motivation, experience in learning, sensitivity to correction, and maybe a longer attention span. Youths may have a shorter attention span, although they can be more open-minded as to learning because of less experience. It takes a good teacher to be well aware of the needs of each student. Teachers must know the subject, be able to provide a good example or model for the students to learn from, and be the Prompter whenever the students struggle with communicating or remembering how to say things in the English language. Being the Assessor, I would need to give feed back and correction, when necessary, but not in a way that would frustrate the student from moving forward in the lesson. Try to motivate the student to keep going, and commend them on their progress.
