Zero conditionals refers to actions and facts that are irrefutable, First conditional refers to a real situation in the future that is possible, probable or possibly certain to occur. Second conditional refers to a present or future hypothetical situation that is not true and never will be. Third conditional refers to a hypothetical past action and the hypothetical result or consequence. Mixed conditional is the combination of a second and third conditional. Pronouns relaying who was speaking can also change depending on the context. Time expressions also change. Today becomes "that day". Yesterday becomes 'the day before' or the 'previous day'. Tomorrow becomes 'the next day' or 'the day after'.Teaching ideas for this topic include Intermediaries, reporting verbs and media interviews.
