This unit explains the four variations of the past tense. I learned how to more simply explain the differences between the past perfect continuous and past perfect so that I do not confuse non English speakers. This unit also provided examples of appropriate activities to help students memorize the tenses. For example, creating stories in the simple past or answering questions about what others were doing, when they had arrived home. I also leaned how important it is to reinvent tasks that are culturally related to whoever I am teaching. For example, making sure that I use East-centric facts when I am in Asia versus West-centric information. I really feel this prepared me for teaching and engraining the past tense within my students.
