This module has made me reflect on my behaviour management.
This is an area I feel I need to give some thought as this is very new to me. In a circuit exercise class I'm currently running I have applied some of the strategies covered in this module, being consistent is very important so that the children are clear on what you expect. Keeping good eye contact is especially important when showing them new activities ensuring they understand what they are supposed to do and using clear gestures helps keep the momentum of the class.
In my experience of managing poor behavior, shouting is not a good strategy. Focusing on the behaviour when talking to the child an dealing with it immediately is an affective approach and this has been the most successful strategy I have used.
