This unit is on how to present a new language to a group of students. When teaching them vocabulary, they must know how it pronounced, used, spelled, and what it means. A teacher must make sure that the vocabulary is appropriate to the students or the task. However, they do not need to know the etymology of the word, since this is supplementary knowledge that is not at all needed to be proficient in the language. Also, new vocabulary should be frequently used in the language, and it should be easy to teach to the students so that not to much time is wasted on only one word. While teaching a new language to the students, the same ESA structures that were introduced in a previous unit may be used to teach grammar and vocabulary.
