This unit has deepened my understanding of some of the more complex grammar that children need to learn. I have found that I needed a lot more revising and revisiting of this unit.
In light of this I have considered how I would teach this to children, I found that a tense tool bar helped me a lot, PAST................NOW.............FUTURE, With drawing or marking under the tool bar in different ways representing the action of the tense was a good tool to have when revising, knowing and remembering, where and which aux verbs are used for each tense really helped as well, I can incorporate this in drilling and missing words in sentences, in the study stage and using props, picture cards and miming games in the activate stage.
I think that speaking and listening activities before they engage in the study stage is essential for comparing, relating and correcting sentences they have been using.
This would need to be revisited regularly to help children retain what they have learned.
I have found some useful resources that would enhance teaching this module in the future.
