I learned of the importance to not over correct beginning students and their ability to learn English. I learned the advantages of individual lessons with a student and how they can be geared towards that students level of understanding. I learned that teachers must be very patient with developing a child's knowledge of English. Finally, I discovered that there are many reasons a child may need to be disciplined such as problems at home, attention-seeking, peer pressure, boredom, and lack of consistency from the teacher.
