In this unit I learned about parts of speech. Specifically, I learned about the different types of nouns, articles, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions. I believe this unit was extremely important and helpful because, as a native English speaker, there are certain grammar rules that I follow when speaking simply because it's what comes naturally as opposed to knowing the rules behind what I say. Gaining the knowledge from this unit will help me be a better teacher because I can explain why the parts of speech are spoken the way they are instead of just telling them how they should be spoken.
