I was surprised to see a cassette recorder and OHP on the list of teaching aids. However, I can imagine that in some countries it can still be used. Although common practice shows that smartphones have taken over the role of CD players and cameras. Even recording aids on smartphones work very well as pronunciation feedback. So far, I have not encountered a really effective computer program for teaching English, even though there is a plethora of online courses, programs available. Myself, I fancy a blended learning approach thus using a phone or skype for some lessons and videos as a homework for example. In one-to-one lessons, a tablet side whiteboard proved to be very effective and transportable, in particular for company courses.
