The subject of this unit is teaching special groups, every group has its characteristics and teaching every group requires different skills, the unit highlights four groups:
-Beginners,students who have no English at all or have been exposed previously but not retained much, they can vary in age, adults and young beginners, therefore their motivation level may vary. There are many techniques and advice on how to teach beginners.
- Teaching individual students means one to one classes, it has many advantages such as no mixed levels,needs can clearly be defined, students are highly motivated.
-Teaching children is one of the most rewarding of all student classes to teach. Teaching children requires skills, the content should be repeated , it should be clearly pronounced, fun, using aid tools is necessary.
- Business English/ ESP, students may vary in age, highly motivated, the teacher should find out what students need, students lack of time make them less likely to do their homework and more likely to be tired in the classroom.
