Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit explained phonemes which is how we SAY a word as opposed to the letters that actually spell it. Each symbol in the phonetic alphabet pairs with each sound. This makes it easier for students to learn pronunciation and shows that how many letters in a word does not equal the amount of sounds there are. The same sounding words can be spelled differently as to show that they mean different things. Thus can be confusing so the phonetic alphabet helps sort out this discrepancy. After learning all the phonemes, the lesson then explained the phonetic chart and which parts of the mouth are used to form each sound. I learned the difference between voiced and unvoiced sounds meaning the presence or absence of a vocal vibration in the throat. I then learned the manner of articulation for each sound meaning the different categories of how the sounds are made and then the manner of articulation or the specific part of the mouth sounds are produced from. Intonation meaning the variation, volume, and pitch of speaking is also very important when learning English and is important in fluency. It includes the rise and fall or fall and rise, or flatness of speech. Finally I learned Linking, Changing, and extra lettering which are all shortcuts or small tricks that we use in the English language to make the production of these sounds in our mouth easier and more natural.
