In my reflections for previous lessons, I somewhat criticized the fact that we were being taught all these essentials skills but it's not much use until we have the chance to put them into use and gain experience as TEFL teachers. I guess I have to take that back now to an extent. These two videos were incredibly helpful for me in regard to consolidating the methods and techniques studied in the ESA unit of this course. It was beneficial to observe an experienced teacher playing the roles of 'good teacher-bad teacher' and it helped me devise my own solutions and ideas for how I would go about teaching a class like that. I also thought it was interesting to note how the culture of the students played a role in the management of the classroom, as well as the etiquette (I'm referring to the teacher not wearing shoes!). I am very glad that these video lessons were placed halfway through the course and I will continue to use the material contained in them to consolidate and reflect on information to be studied in future lessons.
