This unit covered coursebooks and lesson materials. I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of using coursebooks. Coursebooks can be helpful in the sense that they provide tried and tested ways to teach topics. Coursebooks can also be harmful in the sense that they are not always current and can limit the teacher's creativity. In my opinion, I believe it's best to use a coursebook as a guideline but for a teacher to also incorporate their own ideas so that they can ensure the information being taught is tailored to their specific students' needs and interests.
