In this unit, I learned that you need to possess certain qualities in order to be a good teacher. I also learned that teachers play different roles in the classrooms.They need to be able to switch their role often and know when it is appropriate to do so. For example, when the teacher is managing or controlling, they speak in front of the class a majority of the time. When they act as a participant, they are equivalent to the student and the teacher does not do the talking and lets the students lead.
I also learned that there are different learners and their characteristics according to age, nervousness, motivation, etc. The early teens (puberty), are usually unmotivated and are afraid to try new languages. While the preschoolers (under 7), who haven't mastered the English language yet, are more keen on playing games, activities, drawing, singing, etc..
Lastly, there are different levels in the English language. From beginners to advanced, it is important for you to distinguish the different levels for your students.
