This unit discusses the criteria for a good teacher and learner. This unit has taught me what to expect from my students when it come to learning a new language and what approaches I should take as a teacher to help students to stay motivated for success. I also learned that there are many stages on how a teacher should approach her classroom students. For instance, when to use facillitation or Modeling Also, I realize there are differences between adult learners and young learners. The way they learn is based on their culture, age, language level and lastly, their motivation for learning. Usually, adults are more highly motivated than young learners. Most adult learners come to the classroom with knowledge but may have some pre-conceived ideas about teaching which makes it more difficult for them to learn. YOung learners,on the other hand are more open-minded and don't have a lot of experience so they are easily taught.The last thing I learned is the level of of language proficiency and what that means. I myself am a beginner or A1 in Japanese.
