A very challenging grammar point, which requires a good knowledge of all tenses. It was also important to remind that time expressions change as well. Interestingly enough as this is a rather mechanical issue, many engineers enjoy reported speech, however, they do like that much using conditionals. Myself, I really enjoy various types of activities practising conditionals, because students can be creative. But as mentioned above people of more technical nature do not fancy being creative that much.
