I had never thought of the difference between the tests which can be taken when learning a foreign languages. Although I was well aware of the definition of "placement test" and "practice test", I did not know about the variety of existing tests in schools - eg. the difference between placement tests and diagnostic tests. I remember that, in school, they were simply "tests". No one ever explained us the difference.
