As an aspiring teacher I have no doubt that I will encounter many course books in my career. It is going to be difficult discerning what material I deem to be appropriate and whether or not I should cover the vocabulary in a certain unit. etc. It is great to know that it is okay to make these types of changes if I think it is in the students' best interests. This Unit provides valuable insight into class preparation regarding materials and I will definitely use this knowledge in the future. There are many games and exercises to use in class and the Unit also highlights how to prepare your own exercises and activities, while not forgetting about authentic materials. My biggest takeaway from this lesson is that important fact that it's important to be flexible while preparing your materials, whether that be a course book, a specific lesson, or even a movie you want to show in class for example.
