This unit covered the proper ways to teach and behave in a classroom. It was very helpful to watch rather than read examples of how the behavior could negatively or positively influence the students. Watching Simon progress though his lesson in the second video, there were points that I felt clearly showed the positive influences of having a good attitude and a good lesson. In the first video, I was uncomfortable with his teaching style because he not only skipped the Engage phase which could have helped lighten the mood of the classroom but he was also very aggressive and not supportive in the students learning. In the second video, Simon was much more affable and it showed in his students desire to learn and participate as well. He worked to make sure that all the students were comfortable, encouraged, and understood the instructions before jumping to the next activity or leaving them out to the wolves.
