This unit discussed the productive skills (speaking and writing) and receptive skills which are reading and listening. Every skill is equally important to every English language learners though the unit elaborated more on the receptive skills. There are reasons why we read or listen; for entertainment and for a purpose. There are also specific skills that we use when reading or listening. These are scanning, skimming, prediction, deduction and detailed reading. Activities for this unit needs to be controlled, guided and creative.
