In this Unit I learned that you as the teacher have the ability to encourage or discourage your students. Come in prepared, engage the students to break the ice and get them warmed up. Learn their names helps to relax the students and get them more receptive and willing to learn. Explain the activity you want them to do and you will get a lot more class participation. Really your attitude is everything. Smile, give them encouragement and praise and your class will be more receptive to learning.
