The content of this unit focused on the different types of teaching aids and equipment available to teachers as well as the advantages and disadvantages of their usages. There was also a list of resources for English Teachers included that provided online lessons and exercises. White boards and smart boards are what most individuals think of when considering classroom equipment. Both can be beneficial, however it is important to be mindful of writing legibly and neatly as well as sectioning the boards to make sure to have space for the different aspects of the lesson. When using electronic equipment such as the smart board, overhead projector, or DVDs it is important to account for if technological difficulties occur and have a back up in the form of visual aids, worksheets, or even a lesson that can be easily transferred back to the board. I learned about the various items and resources that I can use in my class room but also different online resources that can be used for exercises with my students or inspiration for my own visual aid ideas.
