I think one of the easier past tenses to teach will be past tense simple. I feel that as a teacher it will be quite easy to get the students to understand that because I can literally tell them of things I have done. I could even tell them about things that I did the day before. I think it will also be an easy topic to get them to engage into because I can ask them simple things like what did they do the previous day or what did they eat, etc.
