In this unit, I have learnt ten methodologies about learning and teaching language. Actually, there’re pluses and minuses for every methodology. Whichever methodology to choose, to a large degree, depends on the teacher’s personality, the culture of the students, their needs and the level of their language. Students need more exposure to language, much input from the teacher and communicative tasks; What’s more, students should be encouraged to discover language for themselves and be given less anxiety and stress. There is no doubt that ESA is the most effective and logical methodology. During the study, mistakes and errors are different. It’s appropriate for more correction during the study phase. First, students need the opportunities to correct by themselves. If they can’t do this, other student could help them. If both of the above are unsolvable, the teacher should give corrections. Feedback is also very important for students because it can encourage self-awareness and improvement.
