I feel like this unit was a good overview of what makes a good teacher and a good learner. While it is important to have a classroom full of good, motivated learners, a large portion of the student's motivation may come from the personality, assertiveness, and attitude of the teacher. Students who have respect and a good rapport with their teacher are much more likely to do their best to be good students in the classroom. As a teacher, it is important to provide a wide variety of activities, spend quality time instructing, as well as providing opportunities for the students to work on their own.
