The content of this unit was focused back on working with students and managing the classroom. This unit discussed seating arrangements, the importance of the instructor’s physical presence, different group possibilities for students to work in, and the unit ended with different reasons to consider if a student is acting out in your class. I do have experience with classroom management and one of my favorite activities is to begin your relationship with a contract listing everyone’s expectations for behavior. Laying out the rules of the classroom in this manner turns the tables, the rules are of the students’ creation and therefore they instantly buy-in.
It is very important, and exciting, to consider each of your students as an individual and then ponder what groupings and what seating arrangements to utilize.
