It's inevitable that every teacher, no matter who or where, will face problems with students and their learning process. This unit was great in the sense it helped me think about how to deal with some of the most common problems (such as with listening comprehension) and why is it that these problems might be occurring. One of the constants in the course has been to adapt to your student's needs. This remains true in Unit 20. In order to establish rapport with differing classes, teachers may need to utilize different methods to be successful. Additionally, if one student was helped using one method or technique, that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work for another student in the same class. It's important to be flexible and to always be aware. There are a number of activities for teachers to use for all levels and group sizes, or even just individuals. This unit really helped me to think about what activities will be good in the future and also provided some excellent examples of troubleshooting methods one can employ.
