The focus of unit 8 was the four different future tenses. The four future tenses are future simple, future continuous, the future perfect and future perfect continuous. However there are three other tenses that can be used to describe in actions in the future as well. These are the "be going+ the infinitive", the present simple and the present continuous. This unit was similar to the past and present tense units. It listed each tense's form, usages, typical student errors and lastly a variety of teaching ideas to enhance the lessons. I learned a lot of new teaching activities to do with each future tense such as planning a holiday, inventing a successful career and fortune telling. I didn't realize that we often use the present simple tense and present continuous tense to talk about future actions and I'm glad those two tenses were included in this section. After studying the present, past and future tenses, I feel that I have a solid understanding of the different forms, usages and the best activities for students to play to learn how to use all the different tenses.
