This unit covered the many ways in which a teacher will use evaluation and testing in the classroom and what other tests outside of the classroom can be taken to test english abilities. There are 5 types of tests including placement, diagnostic, progress, practice, and proficiency. Each test has its own purpose whether it be to measure progress, receive certificates, get placed into the correct level class, or practice for an external exam. Outside of the classroom, there are Business english tests and academic english tests that evaluate ones english speaking level. Tests are always used in some form or another for students to know their progress and for teachers to know what must be taught again and gaps in students knowledge.
